Motor Auxiliary Control Unit (MACU)
The MTPU is designed to provide contactor control switching and protection against overheating & undervoltage in AC motor control applications. It forms the basis of the majority of naval starters for both surface and sub surface platforms. The MTPU is designed to operate with specific NATO codified Positive Temperature Coefficient Thermistors (PTCT). In some applications the MACU will be paired with the MTPU to provide additional control features. Full details can be found in the MoD Publication BRF 4540 (504). |
