Whippendell Marine manufacture a range of switchgear and control products specifically designed to meet the rigorous standards demanded by the naval and industrial environment in which they are used. Whippendell products are in service with navies and in industrial applications around the world where their reliability, robust construction and functionality are relied upon.
The following identifies a selection from our product lines:
Shockproof Contactors:
- The MCA range of contactors has been specifically designed for use in critical Naval Applications and is capable of withstanding a shock of 70g. These contactors are available with standard 440V 60Hz Coils and are provided with up to four auxiliary contacts (2 on MCA2). The range is also available as mechanically interlocked pairs. Other coil voltages are available on request.
- The UCAN range is capable of withstanding a shock of 12g on a solid mount. They are available with a 115V or 440V coil and are provided with 2 NO and 2 NC auxiliary contacts. Alternative auxiliary arrangements are available.
- The S range contactors are also shock tested to 70G in the vertical plane and
30G in the horizontal. Rated up to 290A for AC3 operation at 70ºC. These
contactors are also available with either 115V or 440V operating coils and a range of auxiliary contact options.
Motor Protection Relays:
- The MPR3S, together with suitable current transformers, monitors motor supply current. Three phase motors generally require two CTs. An overload condition causes the unit to trip after a time delay inversely proportional to the overcurrent. The MPR3S uniquely provides independently adjustable time delays for starting and normal running. This allows an extended response time during starting, minimising nuisance trips, while maintaining a fast response during normal running.
- R type Thermal Overload Relay complies with IEC947 and incorporates a phase loss trip; ambient temperature compensation; hand reset as standard, auto available on request; interchangeable heater packs; direct and CT operation; trip indication; direct on line and star delta calibration.
